spacetime ballet contact sheet
These are a few samples of the Spacetime Ballet images I made in 2007.
The Spacetime Ballet work was done after I finished making the film “Here is What is”. I was in need of a personal project so I decided to put some humanity into the Spacetime form of photography I’d been developing.
I’ve always admired the power and grace of the ballet. Ballet dancers use their bodies as expressive paint brushes for the composition of the choreographer. In this body of work I was trying empower the dancer to become the composer, the canvas, the brush and the paint.
If the medium is the message, then the subject is the brush.
The dancer extraordinaire is Tiffany Mosher of the National Ballet of Canada.
